Seat Ease is a mobile application designed to simplify entertainment planning. Its user-centric platform seamlessly integrates ticket booking with priority waiting lists, empowering users to secure access to popular events with ease.

The goal of the project was to create a minimal and seamless mobile app for movie ticket booking, improving user interface and providing features like waiting lists and easy refunds.

Users are experiencing significant challenges with unreliable refund processing and the inability to secure desired seats when transitioning from the waitlist, leading to dissatisfaction and hindering their entertainment planning experience.

Solution

Seat Ease provides a dynamic waiting list system and optimises the refund process to facilitate seamless reimbursement, elevating the user experience for entertainment bookings.

Competitive anaysis

I found some key feature gaps and user experience issues among competitors. While some apps offer specific features, they lack essentials like order histories, and trailer sections. Additionally, outdated interfaces and complex booking processes hinder user experience. Further, customers report near-impossible cancellations, inadequate support, and partial refunds (30-50%). This highlights the opportunity for Seat Ease to address these unmet needs.

Companies should make the ticket booking process straightforward. It's frustrating when it's overly complicated and time-consuming.

Having a waiting list feature is a game-changer. It's a sigh of relief knowing I have a chance to get tickets for a sold-out event.

Style guide

To ensure the components are implemented consistently across the site, I created a UI guide with details on color palettes, typography, icons and reusable UI elements.

Onboarding

I came up with a carousel idea for onboarding, with primary action button along with secondary button, also users can move to the home screen instantly to visit the day before continur.

Home

Users can select their preferred fields of interest to receive surveys tailored to their preferences, minimising disqualification due to unmet requirements. This also enables companies to filter their target audience effectively.

Movie details

I divided the movie information into three different segments: show listings, movie and cast details, and reviews. This was done to reduce visual distraction and help users easily navigate through the information they need.

Seat selection

Users can choose seats according to their preferences and abilities. Additionally, the booking timing can be instantly changed from the top of the screen.

Cinemas

"Users can checkout and book movies playing in their nearby cinemas without moving from their couch."

Bookings

The previous or upcoming bookings will be shown here, along with the waiting list. Users can view the receipt and cancel the movie within 24 hours of the booking if they want.
