The current user experience falls short in providing a personalised journey for users, lacking tailored recommendations based on individual preferences and past interactions. Additionally, the platform's responsiveness is not optimal, especially on desktop devices.

Solution

To elevate the user experience on BOHO, I decided to implement a robust personalisation system that tailors recommendations based on user preferences. Additionally, I optimised the platform's responsiveness, particularly on mobile devices, to ensure a smoother and more accessible booking process. These improvements aim to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.

Competitive anaysis

There are five potential competitors that offer similar services to a similar audience as “BOHO” does. Although some of them provide a good experience, some have overwhelming UI and hard-to-understand navigation, while others have a difficult booking process and lack personal preferences, which may frustrates users.

Believing in the power of first impressions, I created a sign-in/up screen that adheres to the principle of priming. By featuring a captivating image, we help users visualise the unique experience awaiting them.

Home

The home screen continues the priming experience with a data entry card on top of dynamic background images. Scrolling allows users to filter hotels by location and features, while filters enable comparison by location, ratings, and price, ultimately guiding them to their perfect match.

Hotel info

Users can explore all essential hotel details before booking. This includes hotel images, highlights, facilities, price, room options, location, guest reviews, FAQs, and cancellation policies.

Style guide

To ensure the components are implemented consistently across the site, I created a UI guide with details on typography, icons, colours, and reusable UI elements.

Checkout

Easy navigation and clear visuals will guide users through each step, ensuring a seamless experience.

Users can save hotels they like for later, accessing them anytime.

We all like things that make us feel like they are just made for us. Keeping this in mind, "BOHO" allows its users to customise their feed according to their preferences. Unlike filters, these settings aren't temporary, although they can be modified or removed
